Food and paper waste recycling for festivals
Food waste, and especially contaminated paper waste, can be extremely difficult to deal with at a festival or event. It is messy, bulky, and very expensive to dispose of ethically – and today’s festival goer is starting to expect that their waste will be dealt with in an environmentally friendly way.
Fortunately we have developed a unique and cost effective service we call Festival Bokashi.
Festival Bokashi can scale to any size event and involves:
- Separating out the food and contaminated paper waste at source
- Shredding the paper waste (plates, cups, bowls, wooden cutlery)
- Layering the waste into 50 gallon drums with Starter
- Taking drums off site to ferment
